St. Mary's Women's Cross Country Recognized for Academic Excellence

New Orleans, La. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's cross country team was one of 187 NCAA Division III programs recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as a 2011 USTFCCCA Division III Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team.  This is the Seahawks' second consecutive selection.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA team academic honor, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better through the 2011 fall semester.

The Seahawk women posted a team GPA of 3.33 through the fall semester and finished 42nd at the 2011 NCAA Mideast Regional hosted by DeSales University on November 12 as sophomore Keighly Bradbrook (Princeton Junction, N.J./West Windsor) paced the St. Mary's five.

St. Mary's was one of five Capital Athletic Conference institutions recognized as Salisbury University (3.44 GPA), York College of Pennsylvania (3.43 GPA), Hood College (3.39 GPA), and University of Mary Washington (3.13 GPA) all earned All-Academic Team status.
