St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland volleyball team is hosting their Dig Pink Rally fundraising event this week so please be on the lookout for the team in their pink shirts!
"We are excited to be a part of this great initiative that encompasses the volleyball community. Anytime a player, team, sport, or school can help raise awareness and contribute to the fight against breast cancer gets us closer to helping out those in need. I'm glad our team is doing their part to help the cause," expressed first-year head coach Jeremy Sands.
You can help support the fight against breast cancer directly by donating at the Seahawk volleyball team fundraising site at https://www.side-out.org/cb/campaigns/campaign/8644 or you can purchase a Dig Pink t-Shirt from any team member for $10 and all the proceeds will go directly to The Side-Out Foundation.
The Seahawks will recognize their contributions to The Side-Out Foundation this Saturday, October 18th at their Dig Pink Rally match against University of Mary Washington at 1:00 p.m. Please show your support by making a donation, buying a shirt, or attending our match and wearing your pink or all three!!
Sands added, "We are excited to be part of The Side-Out Foundation and its Dig Pink® campaign! We believe education is the key to increasing knowledge about the disease and fundraising is essential to support further research. The players, coaches, parents, volunteers, spectators and survivors can look forward to a special day. Join us on Dig Pink Day, and if you are able to attend, please wear something pink! We hope to see you there!"
