Fredericksburg, Va. – Senior captain Melissa Barall (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) landed on the 2018 All-Capital Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Team as announced by assistant conference commissioner Tim Mowrer on Monday morning. Barall earned a spot on the second team for No. 1 singles and was the lone representative for St. Mary's College of Maryland.
Barall is picking up her second career all-star selection after being named the 2015 CAC Rookie of the Year and garnering a second-team spot at No. 2 singles.
The two-year team captain paced the team with a 12-4 overall record this season, including an 11-3 dual match mark at No. 1 singles. She also went 3-3 in conference play. She recorded five shutout victories in singles action while adding three 8-0 triumphs in doubles play.
Barall wrapped up her four-year career with a 47-19 singles record to rank third all-time with most singles wins while ranking second all-time with a .712 career win percentage. She owns the best single-season win percentage at .850 after going 17-3 as a first-year in 2015. In doubles action, Barall ranks fifth all-time with 33 doubles victories.
The Seahawks finished the 2017-18 campaign with an 8-7 (2-5 CAC) overall record for the team's first winning season during head coach Tyler Robinson's three-year tenure.
