St. Mary’s Women’s Rowing Finishes Fourth at MARC Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. - St. Mary's College of Maryland women's rowing competed at the MARC Championships on Saturday (Apr. 27) and finished fourth overall with 51 points. The Seahawks fourth place finish matched the program's best finish in team history.

How It Happened

  • After finishing third in their heat, the Seahawks Varsity Eight squad finished fifth in the grand final with a time of 8:18.30. The Seahawks defeated Adrian for the fifth place finish.

  • St. Mary's College Second Varsity Eight team finished fourth in their grand final with a time of 8:24.39.

MARC Award Winners

  • Elena League and Katie Gill were named to the All-MARC Varsity Team, while Emily Frieman earned All-MARC Novice Team honors. Katie Ortel, Mira League, Katie Gill, and Elena League all qualified for the Academic All-MARC Team. To qualify, student-athletes must a) have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5, b) be in their second, third, or fourth year of eligibility, AND c) must have competed in 75% of the varsity competitions or competed in the MARC Championships.
