Seahawk Women's Rowing Wraps up Fall Season at Head of the Occoquan

Fairfax Station, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's rowing team posted a ninth-place finish in the collegiate varsity 8+ as the Seahawks competed in their final race of the season at the Head of the Occoquan Regatta on Saturday in windy fall conditions. All boats showed improvement from last week's racing.

How It Happened

  • The varsity 8+ finished in 18:35.17 to claim ninth in the field of 15. Georgetown University won the event in 16:40.40.
  • The varsity 4+ took 12th of 16 with a time of 21:21.88. Georgetown once again came in first with a time of 18:38.20.
  • St. Mary's had its frosh/novice 8+ place 12th place overall as well in a field of 21 by clocking a 21:46.07. Georgetown swept the three events, this time with a time of 17:28.89.
