YORK, Pa. - St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse (7-6, 1-1 CAC) fell to the No. 8 York College Spartans (8-4, 2-0 CAC) by a final score of 16-7 on Saturday (Apr. 6) afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action.

How It Happened
In a competitive first half, the Spartans pulled ahead early with back-to-back goals in the first three minutes of action. The Seahawks responded and trimmed the Spartan lead to one as Ali Collie found the back of the net at the 25:25 mark of the first half.
Trailing 3-1, St. Mary's College knotted the game up at three with back-to-back goals from Kate Bartholomew and Collie. However, the Spartans answered with six unanswered goals to jump out to a 9-3 advantage. The Seahawks finished the half strong with a two goal run. Caitlin Katchmar started the scoring burst with a goal off a free position shot and Collie tallied the second goal with 39 seconds remaining.
The second half of action was controlled by the Spartans as they outscored the Seahawks 7-2. The Spartans strung together a six goal run to start the second half for a 15-5 lead. St. Mary's College responded with goals from Nicole Kuderski and Katchmar, but York was too far ahead for the Seahawks to pull off the comeback.
Inside the Box Score
Collie led the Seahawks on the offensive end with three points off of three goals. Katchmar followed with two points, finding the back of the cage twice.
Stephanie Heffron, Kuderski, and Emma Brown paced the Seahawks with two ground balls each. Francesca Ziccardi, Heffron, Kuderski, Collie, and Brown caused one turnover each. In goal, Brown collected 12 saves.
