Seahawk Men's Swimming Commences Action at CAC Championships

St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swim team began competition at the 2018 Capital Athletic Conference Men's Swimming Championships Thursday night at the Aquatics on the St. Mary's College campus. The 800-yard freestyle relay was the only event swam tonight.

How It Happened

  • First-year Andrew Scott (California, Md./Leonardtown), sophomore Peter Orban (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill), junior Colin Cassady (Phoenix, Md./Calvert Hall) posted a time of 7:10.11 to take fifth in the 800-yard freestyle relay – the lone event tonight.
  • The Seahawks currently stand fifth in the six-team field with 28 points for a two-point lead over Marymount (Va.) University. The three-day championship event will wrap up on Sunday, February 25 with the crowning of the team champion. York College of Pennsylvania holds the No. 1 spot in the team standings with 40 points while the University of Mary Washington is on the hunt for its 24th overall, and 18th consecutive, CAC championship title.
