York, Pa. – Junior Donn Hill (Aberdeen, Md./Bel Air) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending December 30 as announced by league commissioner, Tom Byrnes, Monday afternoon.
Hill was selected for his first career CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award after scoring a season-best 19 points in back-to-back contests and leading the Seahawks to victories over Swarthmore College and Misericordia University in St. Mary's Seahawk Holiday Classic.
The 6-3 guard earned All-Tournament recognition after the 16th-ranked Seahawks extended their win streak to 10 games. Hill is the second Seahawk men's player to receive the weekly honor after senior forward Jeff Haus (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) earned it on November 26.
The team's leading scorer in four-straight games, Hill tallied a season-best 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting while adding a season-high three assists in the 75-56 win over Swarthmore.
He then made his first six shots against Misericordia, finishing with a season-best 19 points for the second consecutive contest and adding a season-high five steals.
For the week, Hill shot 68.2% from the field (15-for-22) and hit 72.7% at the free throw line (8-for-11).
The Seahawks will be back in action on January 1-2 at the Morris Cregger New Year's Invitational hosted by Roanoke College (Salem, Va.). St. Mary's will face Huntingdon (Ala.) College on January 1 at 2:00 pm.
