York, Pa. – Senior Jeff Haus (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending November 25 as announced by league commissioner, Tom Byrnes, Monday afternoon. This is Haus' first career weekly honor and he shares this week's honor with Salisbury University's Travon Vann.
Haus is the Co-Player of the Week after earning MVP honors at the Carnegie Mellon University DoubleTree Tournament. He averaged 16.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, and shot 61.9% from the field in leading the No. 19 St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team to top team honors at the tournament. The Seahawks are currently 3-1 on the season.
The 6-6 forward collected his third career double-double in a four-point win over Capital (Ohio) University with season-highs of 17 points and 10 rebounds on 8-of-11 shooting while adding a block and a steal.
Haus followed that performance with a 15-point, nine-rebound effort in the 78-70 championship victory over St. Vincent College. He erupted for 13 of his 15 points in the second half, including tallying eight points in just over a three-minute span, as the Seahawks stretched their two-point halftime lead to 63-52 with 8:05 left in the game.
The Seahawks will be back in action on Saturday, December 1 when St. Mary's welcomes York College of Pennsylvania (1-3) to Ed Cole Court in the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena for the Capital Athletic Conference opener for both teams at 4:00 pm.
