St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team outscored the Salisbury University Sea Gulls, 38-17, in the second half to post a 59-42 Capital Athletic Conference victory Wednesday night as three Seahawks notched double-digit points.

The Seahawks (17-6, 11-3 CAC) entered the second half down 25-21 and Salisbury's last lead came at 16:21 (29-27) as senior guard Devin Posey (Indian Head, Md./Lackey) put a layup.  St. Mary's took over at that point with a 12-0 run to establish a double-figure lead that the Seahawks never relinquished.  The home team continued to roll through the half and built its biggest lead of 19 (55-36) with 6:04 left in the game.

Guards Devin Spencer (Baltimore, Md./Towson Catholic) and Brendan McFall (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) shared game scoring honors with 16 points each.  McFall had a career night with his 16 points and seven rebounds.  Junior forward Jeff Haus (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) also scored in double figures with 12 points off the bench while sophomore forward Christian MacAuley (Silver Spring, Md./Paint Branch) hauled in a game-best 10 boards and swatted away four shots.

St. Mary's opened up the game with a 5-0 run but the Sea Gulls (12-10, 5-8 CAC) quickly turned things around with a 14-2 run to stake a seven-point lead with 9:17 remaining in the first half.  Spencer's jumper at 2:25 capped a 12-5 run that knotted the game at 19-all before first-year guard Chris Viqueira (Boyds, Md./Clarksburg) scored consecutive jumpers for the 25-21 Sea Gull lead at halftime.

McFall led all players at the break with eight points and five rebounds while Viqueira paced his Sea Gulls with seven points off the bench.

The Seahawks experienced a sluggish offensive start in the first, shooting 30.8% from the field in the first half before coming in red hot in the second stanza and connecting on 13-of-22 shots for 59.1% to finish the game with a 43.8 field goal percentage.  St. Mary's also controlled the glass with a 36-29 margin.

St. Mary's will be back in action on Saturday, February 11 as the Seahawks travel to Dover, Delaware for a conference tilt at Wesley College (10-12, 8-5 CAC).  Tip-off is set for 4:00 pm.  St. Mary's notched an 80-70 victory over Wesley on January 7 behind career efforts by senior forward Brian Grashof (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) and sophomore guard Kyle Wise (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall).
