Rockville, Md. – For the second time this season, junior captain Devin Spencer (Baltimore, Md./Towson Catholic) has earned PrestoSports Pride of Maryland Player of the Week honors as announced by PrestoSports Monday afternoon.
Spencer averaged 10.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in leading the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team to wins over York College of Pennsylvania and Marymount (Va.) University. He shot 41.7-percent from the field as well as 81.8-percent from the free throw line.
The 5-11 guard started the week by contributing five points, four rebounds, and two assists in a close 54-52 win over York.
Spencer's strongest performance of the week came in the Seahawks' 67-58 win over Marymount (Va.) when he went 3-of-7 from the field, including a triple, and drained 9-of-11 from the foul line for a total of 16 points.
Spencer is fourth in the Capital Athletic Conference in free throw percentage with 83.8% as well as fourth in three-point field goal percentage with 40.3%.
St. Mary's will be back in action on Wednesday, February 8 as the Seahawks welcome Salisbury University (12-9, 5-7 CAC) to Ed Cole Court in the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena for a league contest at 8:00 pm.
