York, Pa. – Senior captain Olivia Edwards (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) wrapped up the Capital Athletic Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week award for the third time in her career Monday afternoon. Edwards is the second consecutive Seahawk to win the award as sophomore forward Brady Wolf (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh School) earned the honor last Monday.
The 5-6 forward notched the award after leading St. Mary's College of Maryland (9-3, 2-0 CAC) to a 2-0 week with three goals. The Seahawks posted a 2-1 CAC win over York College of Pennsylvania on Saturday followed by a 2-0 win over Virginia Wesleyan College the next day. St. Mary's leads the conference by half a game ahead of No. 1 Salisbury University and No. 18 University of Mary Washington.
Edwards started her weekend by scoring both goals in the win over York to keep the Seahawks undefeated in CAC action. She followed that up with her team-leading 13th goal of the season in the victory over Virginia Wesleyan.
She now ranks second on the Seahawks' all-time single-season goals list and third on the single-season points list.
In the conference, Edwards' 13 goals tie her for second with Salisbury's Courtney Jantzen while she ranks third with 29 points.
The Seahawks will be back in action on Thursday, October 16th as St. Mary's travels to Dover, Delaware to face Wesley College in conference action at 7:00 p.m.
