St. Mary's City, Md. – Six runs in the sixth inning brought the St. Mary's College of Maryland baseball team back from a 2-0 deficit to post a 6-3 non-conference victory over the Gettysburg College Bullets Sunday afternoon.

Six different Seahawks collected six hits while sophomore LHP Michael O'Neill (Ocean City, Md./Stephen Decatur) improved to 2-0 on the season as O'Neill threw six solid innings and gave up two runs on five hits with two strikeouts.

After two scoreless innings, Gettysburg (0-1) struck first in the top of the third with a pair of runs. Senior C Cam MacDonald (Norwell, Mass./Norwell) led off the inning with a walk and then advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. MacDonald went to third on an infield single before scoring an RBI single by senior RF Al Posch (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) for a 1-0 Bullet lead with one out.

Junior Cory Karagjozi (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) doubled Gettyburg's lead on a single up the middle by senior Nate Simon (Gwynedd Valley, Pa./Abington Friends). The Bullets kept the bases loaded but were on unable to push any more runs across the plate as St. Mary's threw Posch out at home and then got sophomore Shawn Moffitt (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) to pop up to first to end the inning.

The Seahawks (5-3) responded in a big way in the sixth as senior captain Alex Lenovitz (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) doubled down the right field line to lead off the comeback inning. St. Mary's scored its six runs on two hits and an error as two runs were walked in; two others came in on an error; junior 1B Jared Eaker (Mechanicsville, Md./Leonardtown) stole home; and another scored on a fielder's choice.

Gettysburg attempted a rally in the ninth as senior CF Patrick O'Grady (Floral Park, N.Y./Molloy) reached on an error, went to second on a wild pitch, and then to third on a single by junior PH Scott Zanghellini (Randolph, N.J./Randolph). O'Grady scored the Bullets' third and final run a fielder's choice. Lenovitz, who came in for the ninth, got the next two batters to pop up and to ground out to secure the win.

Karagjozi led Gettysburg at the plate with two hits and a run scored while senior RHP Drew Felsenthal (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) claimed the loss, pitching 5.1 innings and giving up four runs on six hits with three walks and one strikeout.

St. Mary's will be back in action on Friday, March 7th as the Seahawks return to Capital Athletic Conference action with a game at the Hawk's Nest against York College of Pennsylvania. First pitch is at 2:00 p.m.
