Tom Brewer embarks on his seventh season as an assistant coach in 2012.

Brewer is no stranger to the St. Mary's volleyball program having served at the helm of the Seahawks from 1994 to 1997.  He posted a four-year mark of 76-52, leading St. Mary's to the Capital Athletic Conference semifinals in 1995 and finishing the year with a 21-14 record.  Brewer had 20+ wins in each of his first three years as head coach.

From 1997 to 2005, Brewer coached junior girls volleyball for the St. Mary's County Juniors Volleyball Club.

He also serves a regional referee for the Chesapeake Region of USA Volleyball, refereeing high school, junior, adult, and NCAA-sanctioned matches.  Adding to his knowledge of volleyball, Brewer completed Level 2 certification of the USA Volleyball Coaching Accreditation Program.

Since 1984, he has played in the Chesapeake Region adult division.

Brewer is a 1981 graduate of St. Mary's, having earned a bachelor's of science degree in natural science.  He currently works as a laboratory technician within the biology department at St. Mary's.
