The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the 28th Annual AVCA Division III All-America Teams Tuesday afternoon and junior Katie Ewing was St. Mary’s College of Maryland lone representative as Ewing received honorable mention laurels.

Three Seahawk Volleyball Players Earn All-CAC Honors
The 2008 All-Capital Athletic Conference volleyball teams were released Tuesday afternoon by conference commissioner, Tom Byrnes. St. Mary’s College of Maryland, who finished as the CAC runner-up for the second straight season, garnered three Seahawks on the all-conference teams.

Tursell Named St. Mary’s October Athlete-of-the-Month
St. Mary’s College of Maryland volleyball player, Becca Tursell, was selected by the Department of Athletics and Recreation as the October Athlete-of-the-Month, becoming the second volleyball player to earn athlete-of-the-month honors as junior outside hitter Katie Ewing garnered the accolade in September.

The No. 20 Salisbury University volleyball team repeated as Capital Athletic Conference champions on Saturday evening as the Sea Gulls knocked off second-seed St. Mary's College of Maryland for the second year in a row, 3-1, in front of a crowd of 350 at the Maggs Center. The win stretched Salisbury's win streak to an impressive 35-straight matches which ranks ninth all-time in NCAA Division III volleyball history.
