St. Mary's City, Md. – In their fourth match in four days, the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team (7-8, 3-4 CAC) lost a Capital Athletic Conference match, 8-1, to the No. 17 Eagles of the University of Mary Washington Tuesday afternoon.

- Team captains Melissa Barall (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) and Marissa Romanek (Sunderland, Md./Huntingtown) would face the Eagles' top pairing in Kait Brogan and Taylor Diffley but would fall 8-2. Brogan and Diffley are currently ranked fifth in the Atlantic South region.
- Barall took on Brogan, who ranks 11th in the region, at No. 1 singles but dropped a 1-6, 0-6 decision.
- Junior Raziela Manangan (Baltimore, Md./Institute of Notre Dame) saw her four-match win streak snapped as Manangan would fall to UMW's Addie Hinton, 1-6, 0-6 but would finish her regular season with a team-best 4-3 CAC record.
- Romanek would score the lone point on the day for the Seahawks when Diffley retired from the No. 2 match. This win would also bring the senior's CAC record to 4-3 on the year.
The Seahawks will now look ahead to the CAC playoffs which kick off this Saturday, April 15 at York College of Pennsylvania with first-round action. St. Mary's will look to avenge Sunday's 7-2 loss at York.
