St. Mary’s Blanks Lancaster Bible
Lancaster, Pa. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team rebounded from Friday's loss with a 9-0 blanking of Lancaster Bible College Tuesday afternoon as the Seahawks (4-2) wrapped up the fall portion of their 2009-10 campaign.
Freshman Chelsea Bradcovich (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) finished the fall season with a perfect 6-0 dual record, while sophomore Kathleen Ramsey (Dunkirk, Md./Northern) owns a 3-1 mark after notching a 6-2, 6-0 win over junior Ashley Bell (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) at No. 6 singles.
Sophomore Katie Lackler (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) and freshman Beth Handy (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) also posted an unblemished mark during fall action as the duo tallied an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles over freshman Brianna Funk (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) and sophomore Michelle Ringler (Bowmansville, Pa./Garden Spot) to move to 4-0 on the season.
The Seahawks will be idle until the spring when St. Mary's opens up with Division II Virginia Union University at the Somerset Tennis Complex on February 26, 2010 at 3:30 pm.
