Seahawk Women’s Swimming Recognized as CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

Norfolk, Va. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released its 2016 fall list of CSCAA Scholar All-America Women's Swim Teams Wednesday morning. St. Mary's College of Maryland was one of record 638 teams honored by the coaches organization as the Seahawks picked up their first team scholar award under first-year head coach Casey Brandt.

The awards are in recognition of teams' that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2016 Fall Semester.

St. Mary's tallied a 3.60 team grade point average during the 2016 Fall Semester and was one of 151 Division III women's swim teams to receive the honor.

The Seahawks were one of five Capital Athletic Conference women's swim team to be awarded by the CSCAA. However, only St. Mary's had both its men's and women's swim teams honored as Scholar All-America Teams.
