Hotchko, Heyde Headed to NCAA Championships

The official psych sheet for the 2010 NCAA Division III Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships was released earlier this week and St. Mary’s College of Maryland will have two representatives at this year’s championships in senior Rachel Hotchko and first-year Kelly Heyde. This marks the fifth year in a row that the Seahawks will be competing at the NCAA championships.

Heyde Tabbed CAC Rookie of the Year as St. Mary’s Finishes Second at CACs

St. Mary's College of Maryland freshman Kelly Heyde was selected as the Capital Athletic Conference Female Rookie of the Year while University of Mary Washington junior Sarah Crockett was named the CAC Female Swimmer of the Year. Crockett became just the second swimmer in conference history to win seven gold medals.

Seahawk Women Move into Second Following Day Two Action

Ten NCAA provisional times, six Capital Athletic Conference championship meet records and two NCAA automatic qualifying times were the highlights Saturday as the second day of the 2010 CAC Women’s Swimming Championships wrapped up.

St. Mary’s Third after First Day of CAC Championships

The 2010 Capital Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Swimming Championships kicked off Friday evening with timed finals at St. Mary's College of Maryland. The traditional morning preliminary trials were canceled in response to transportation safety concerns for the six visiting teams as a result of the record snowfall in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Minor Changes to CAC Swimming Championships Schedule

As Governor Martin O'Malley issued a Declaration of Emergency for the entire state and declared that non-emergency vehicles remain off the roads, changes have been made to the 2010 Capital Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Swimming Championships hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland on February 12, 13, and 14.
