Heyde and St. Mary's Women's Swimming Honored by Coaches Association
Evanston, Ill. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America released the 2011-12 list of Division III Scholar All-America women’s swimming teams Tuesday and St. Mary’s College of Maryland picked up their 14th consecutive team scholar award under the guidance of head coach Andre Barbins.

St. Mary’s City, Md. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated the 2011-12 academic year on Tuesday night with the annual athletics reception. Raab Sets School Record as St. Mary's Women's Swimming Takes Second at CACs
St. Mary’s City, Md. – First-year Brooke Raab broke her own record in the 200 breaststroke and 14-year head coach Andre Barbins was named Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Swim Coach of the Year in leading the St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s swim team to second at the CAC Men’s and Women’s Swimming Championships for the fifth consecutive year.

St. Mary’s City, Md. – Junior Kelly Heyde picked up her second NCAA provisional qualifying time of the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming Championships Saturday afternoon while the 800 free relay team established a new record to help the St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s swim team stay in second in the team standings.

St. Mary’s City, Md. – The 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming Championships kicked off Friday with junior Kelly Heyde notching an NCAA provisional time in the 200 individual medley and helping the St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s swim team garnered second in the team standings through five events with 179 points.

St. Mary’s City, Md. – The Aquatics Center at the Michael P. O’Brien Athletics & Recreation Center will serve as the host pool for the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming Championships on February 17-19. The 2012 championships mark the seventh time that St. Mary’s College of Maryland has served as the host institution after successfully hosting the 2006 CACs.

It was a historical win for the St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s swim team Friday afternoon as the Seahawks (13-0, 5-0) recorded the program’s first-ever triumph over the 21-time defending Capital Athletic Conference champion, University of Mary Washington, posting a convincing 122-83 league win over Mary Washington.

The St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s swim team snapped a 12-year winless streak against Washington College Friday afternoon as the Seahawks dominated the non-conference meet with eight first-place finishes en route to a 134-69 victory and a perfect 6-0 overall record. Friday’s win is the first over Washington since the Seahawks’ 120-79 triumph on January 22, 1999.
