St. Mary's Women's Swimming Honored by Coaches Association
Evanston, Ill. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the 2010-11 list of Scholar All-America Teams and the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swimming team picked up their 14th consecutive team scholar award.
St. Mary's achieved a 3.33 team cumulative grade point average for the 2010-11 academic year. In all, 91 Division III women's swimming programs were recognized while the Seahawks were one of three teams to represent the Capital Athletic Conference as Salisbury University (3.23 GPA) and Marymount (Va.) University (3.03 GPA) made the cut as well.
The Scholar All-America Team Award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
