Scott Villagran joined the Seahawks in August 2014 as Head Coach Peter Krech's first assistant. Villagran is heavily involved with all aspects of the team, including the planning and running of training sessions, video breakdown, game-day management, and recruiting.
When he is not working at the College, Villagran coaches multiple club teams with Maryland United FC. He currently coaches U12 and U17 Red teams on the girls’ side of the club and helps with the ECNL teams as an assistant. Villagran has been involved with the club at various levels since 2007. Prior to working with Maryland United, he coached with Waldorf Soccer Club from 2005-2007. Villagran is also an assistant coach with the Southern Maryland Futsal Club (SMFC) men’s team as well as the SMFC technical director, where he has been on staff since 2006.
He attended the College of Southern Maryland (CSM), where he was an All-Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference and All-NJCAA Region XX player. Villagran was also an honorable mention All-American.
He graduated from CSM with a degree in arts, exercise, and sports science. Villagran also has a USSF “D” License, NSCAA National Diploma, and a Portuguese Federation Level 2 Diploma.
