Joining the Seahawk men's and women's soccer coaching staffs in 2016, Sean Killion works with the goalkeepers on both teams and will look to turn them into regional and national performers.

In his first season at St. Mary's, Killion mentored a pair of All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) keepers in Zack Haussler '18 and Sydney Larkin '18.

He developed his coaching style and philosophy through his work with various clubs and schools. Killion was the assistant director of development and goalie coach for Virginia Legacy (2013-2014) before becoming the head junior varsity and assistant varsity coach at Menchville High School (2014-2015).

The Crofton, Md. native helped out at his alma mater, Christopher Newport University, during the 2014 campaign and then coached the U17 and U19 teams for FC United (2015-2016). In addition to helping the College out last season, Killion also served as the head junior varsity and assistant varsity coach of the girls team at St. Mary's (Annapolis) High School.

He currently serves as the goalkeeping director at Academy One in Arlington, Va. and coaches for the '01 Calvert Soccer Association EDP.

Killion came to St. Mary's following a solid career at Christopher Newport. He was a two-year starter for the Captains between the pipes, earning honorable mention All-USA South honors as a junior in 2012. A team captain as a senior, Killion finished his career with a two-year mark of 19-6-3 and a 1.10 goals against average.

Standing tall at 6-5, he posted a .711 save percentage with 86 career stops and nine shutouts. Killion led CNU to a USA South regular-season title and an NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship Tournament berth in 2012 while helping the Captains to the semifinals of the CAC Tournament in 2013 (CNU's first year in the CAC), boasting a 0.98 GAA and eight shutouts.

The Crofton, Md. native also won the 2006 Arundel County Boys Soccer Championship as a freshman at Arundel High School and captured the 2010 Maryland State Cup with Freestate Elite and fellow coach, Nicholas Staufenberger.

Killion graduated from CNU in 2014 with a bachelor's in communication studies and a minor in business administration. He also earned his E and F licenses in February 2017.
