Fredericksburg, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team earned three spots on the 2018 All-Capital Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Team as announced by Assistant Commissioner Tim Mowrer Wednesday morning.
Senior Lauren Hall (Perry Hall, Md./Perry Hall) and sophomore Alex Moody (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet Regional) garnered first team selections while senior Katie Flores (Towson, Md./Towson) was named to the second team. Flores is a repeat all-star after gaining a second-team honors in 2015.
Hall concludes her collegiate career as a first-time all-star after serving as St. Mary's defensive rock in all 20 games this season. The 5-7 defender helped the Seahawks put up a stingy defense with a CAC third-best seven shutouts plus a fifth-best 1.46 goals against average.
She also contributed upfront with the game-winning penalty kick in St. Mary's 1-0 road win over Stevenson University, picking up CAC Defensive Player of the Week on September 10 for her efforts. Hall played in 65 games with 51 starts during her four-year career as a Seahawk, finishing with two game-winning goals and five points.
Moody is also picking up her first-ever all-conference honor following a solid sophomore campaign. The 5-6 forward finished tied for eighth in the league with team-bests of six goals and two game-winning goals while being tied for ninth with a team-high 14 points. She notched CAC Offensive Player of the Week honors on October 1 after netting three of the team's four goals, including both game-winners, in a 2-0 week for St. Mary's.
Flores bookends her career with another second-team All-CAC award after tallying the same honor as a first-year in 2015. The 5-7 goalkeeper ranks second in the conference with 104 saves, fourth with a .782 save percentage, and tied for fourth with five wins and four shutouts. She garnered the CAC Defensive Player of the Week award twice this season on October 1 and October 29.
Flores posted double-digit saves three times this season, including a career-best 11 stops at Frostburg State University (Oct. 13) and at No. 15 Christopher Newport University (Oct. 24).
For her career, she registered a 1.54 goals against average in 3,392 minutes of action (7th all-time) over 40 games played (7th all-time) with 38 starts (4th all-time). Flores leaves St. Mary's with a .773 save percentage, 197 saves (7th all-time), and eight shutouts. She is also fifth all-time with 15 wins and sixth with 4.93 saves per game.
St. Mary's finished this season with an 8-11-1 (2-4-1 CAC) overall record and as the No. 6 seed in the 2018 CAC Tournament. The Seahawks advanced to the semifinals for the fourth straight season under fifth-year head coach Peter Krech '09 after knocking off third-seeded York College of Pennsylvania, 1-0, on the road.
