St.  Mary's City, Md. – It was another 1-0 loss for the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team Wednesday afternoon as an early first half goal propelled Bridgewater (Va.) College to a non-conference victory over St. Mary's.

How It Happened

  • Bridgewater staked a 1-0 lead at 18:32 when Sarah Brennan fired a free kick over the wall inside the near post from the left corner of the penalty box.
  • The Eagles doubled up St. Mary's shots in the first half, 6-3, while the Seahawks earned the lone corner kick of the half.
  • The Seahawks edged BC, 4-3, in shots in the second stanza while corner kicks were even at 1-1.

For the Seahawks (0-3-2)

  • Scorers: None
  • Goalkeeper: Katie Flores (3 saves, 1 goal allowed, 90:00)
  • The Seahawks finished with seven (two on goal) shots plus two corner kicks.

For Bridgewater (3-1-1)

  • Scorer: Brennan (1 goal)
  • Goalkeeper: Hayley Talbott (2 saves, 0 goals allowed, 90:00)
  • Bridgewater notched nine (four on goal) shots and one corner.

Notes

  • Bridgewater is now 2-1 all-time against the Seahawks.
  • St. Mary's has now gone 381:24 minutes without scoring a goal.
