Carrier Selected as Co-CAC Women’s Soccer Player-of-the-Week

York, Pa. - Senior Lauren Carrier (Crownsville, Md./Old Mill) of the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer earned her second selection as the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Women's Soccer Player-of-the-Week as announced by conference commissioner, Tom Byrnes.  Carrier earns the weekly honor for the week ending October 12.

Lauren Carrier Carrier, who shares this week's honor with York (Pa.) College's Jill Stanley, was also named the CAC Women's Soccer Player-of-the-Week on September 15.

The 5-5 forward registered her second career hat trick in No. 25 St. Mary's (7-0-3, 4-0-1 CAC) only game of the week, a 3-0 triumph over CAC rival, Stevenson University.  In helping to keep the Seahawks unbeaten this season, Carrier increased her team-leading totals to 13 goals and 29 points.

She currently ranks first in the league in points per game with a 2.90 average and in goals per game with a 1.30 average, while being second in points and goals.

St. Mary's returns to action on Wednesday, October 15 as the Seahawks welcome the regionally-ranked Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan College for a non-conference tilt at 4:00 at Seahawk Stadium.  The Seahawks are ranked 25th in Division and fourth in the Middle Atlantic region, while VWC is currently ranked fourth in the South region.
