St. Mary's Women's Rowing Takes Part in First Event of the Fall

Philadelphia, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's rowing team competed at the Navy Day Regatta in Philadelphia on Saturday. This was the team's first event of the 2017-18 campaign.

How It Happened

  • St. Mary's scratched the Collegiate Frosh/Novice 8+ race before finishing 22nd in the Collegiate JV 8+ Final with a time of 18:18.76.
  • The Open/Collegiate 8+ was the final race of the day for St. Mary's and it saw the Seahawks come in at 22nd in the 26-boat field with a time of 15:55.30.
  • The Seahawks also scratched the final event of the day – the Collegiate Frosh/Novice 4+.

  • Junior Varsity Eight: Hana Yarborough (coxswain), Natalie Purpora (stroke), Sammie Alteri (seven), Thea Keppler (six), Clara Comstock (five), Julia Bowden (four), Elena League (three), Kat Bradshaw (two), Hannah Roe (bow).
  • Varsity Eight: Hana Yarborough (coxswain), Katie Gill (stroke), Katie Ortel (seven), Emma Sigler (six), Shannon Russ (five), Catie Kardash (four), Angelina Wilson (three), Zoe Grabenstetter (two), Kendall Shriver (bow).
