Saint-Aubin Named Conference Player of the Week
St. Mary's City, Md. - Senior guard Stephanie Saint-Aubin (Bowie, Md./Elizabeth Seton) was selected as the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending November 29 as announced by league commissioner, Tom Byrnes, Monday afternoon. Gallaudet University's Brittainy Payne joined Saint-Aubin in earning the weekly honor.
Saint-Aubin averaged 18.5 points in two games for St.
Mary's (1-4), including a season-best 27 points in Saturday's
victory over Shenandoah University.
Saint-Aubin, who drained 13-of-22 field goal
attempts, also had a season-best seven steals against the Hornets
as the Seahawks registered their first win of the season.
She started the week with 10 points and two assists in SMCM's loss to Christopher Newport University before the Thanksgiving break.
Saint-Aubin currently ranks fourth in the conference in scoring (18.2 points per game), tied for fifth in steals (2.8 steals per game), ninth in rebounding (8.2 rebounds per game), 10th in blocks (0.6 blocks per game), and 15th in field goal percentage (.414).
The Seahawks will begin CAC action this Wednesday, December 2 when St. Mary's traveled to Arlington, Virginia to take on No. 20 Marymount University. Tip-off is set for 6:00 pm.
