Seahawks Fly by Hood, 71-54
Frederick, Md. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's basketball team sweep regular-season series with Hood College with a 71-54 road win in Capital Athletic Conference action Wednesday night.
Sophomore guard Steph Saint-Aubin (Bowie, Md./Elizabeth Seton) paced the Seahawks (14-7, 7-5 CAC) with 19 points and seven rebounds, while junior forward Allie Scott (Laurel, Md./Atholton) added 16 points and six boards as St. Mary's sported a 31-21 lead at halftime.
Senior guard Megan Uglik (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) and freshman center Tiara Hurte (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) were also in double figures for the Seahawks. Uglik contributed 14 points and three assists, while Hurte chipped in 11 points.
Hood (4-16, 2-10 CAC) had only one player in double figures as sophomore forward Jen Willison (Hancock, Md./Hancock) recorded a double-double on game-highs of 27 points and 10 caroms.
The Seahawks return to action this Saturday when St. Mary's travels to York, Pennsylvania to take on York (Pa.) College in another conference tilt at 2:00.
