Four St. Mary’s Sailors Pick Up All-America Honors

St. Mary’s College of Maryland sailing team had senior team captain Jennifer Chamberlin and junior Kelly Wilbur named to the 2009 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Crew All-America Team, while junior Jesse Kirkland and sophomore Michael Menninger were selected to the ICSA Coed Skippers All-America Team.

No. 4 Seahawks Capture 2009 ICSA Coed National Championship

All the pieces were in place Wednesday for an exciting finale to determine the 2009 ICSA/Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship on the San Francisco Bay, from warmer air and sea conditions, to good breeze, to a close contest between the two frontrunners for the title who were separated by just seven points with only eight races left to sail.

St. Mary’s Finishes Just Shy of the ICSA Team National Championship

The St. Mary’s College of Maryland sailing team was just a win away from claiming the 2009 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association/APS Team Race National Championship (May 29-31). The Seahawks notched a 12-5 record to finish ahead of Georgetown University’s 10-7 mark for second place at the team race championship.

Magill Nabs All-America Honors for Second Year in a Row

Sophomore skipper Megan Magill was the lone representative for the St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s sailing team on the 2009 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Women’s All-America Team as announced by the ICSA Wednesday night.

Seahawks Claim 6th at ICSA Women’s National Championship

The No. 5 St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s sailing team finished sixth at the 2009 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Women’s National Championship (May 26-27) hosted by Stanford University and the St. Francis Yacht Club. The Seahawks totaled 202 points in 28 completed races, besting No. 6 Georgetown University by six points.
