No. 5 St. Mary’s Women Grabs Sixth at Finger Lakes Intersectional

Ithaca, N.Y. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland sailing team finished in sixth place at the Women's Finger Lakes Intersectional Regatta (October 3-4) hosted by Cornell University.  St. Mary's totaled 130 points in 24 completed races, finishing behind No. 2 Brown University.

Freshman Ainsley Thomson (Princeton, N.J.) skippered the B division boat to fourth place with junior crew Maddie Jackson (Bainbridge Island, Wash.), notching 58 points.

In A division, sophomore skipper Mimi Roller (St. John, U.S.V.I.) finished sixth with freshman crew Gina Marie Mattera (Annapolis, Md.).  The Seahawks posted 72 points, just four off a fifth-place finish.

Top-ranked Old Dominion University took top honors at Finger Lakes with 84 points as the Monarchs placed second in the B division and fourth in the A division.
