No. 6 St. Marys Coed Notches Ninth at Danmark Trophy
New London, Conn. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland coed sailing team placed ninth at the Danmark Trophy (October 3-4) hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, jumping up four spots from yesterday's 13th-place finish. St. Mary's totaled 299 points in 30 completed races, finishing behind No. 3 Roger Williams University.
Senior Jesse Kirkland (Warwick, Bermuda) skippered the A division boat to seventh place with freshman crew Katie Gluskin (Duxbury, Mass.), notching 137 points.
In B division, freshman skipper Joshua Greenslade (Smiths, Bermuda) finished 10th with senior crew Kelly Wilbur (Ipswich, Mass.) after the duo placed 18th first-day action yesterday. The Seahawks posted 162 points, just two points off a ninth-place finish.
Top-ranked Yale University took top honors at Danmark with 156 points as the Bulldogs placed first in A division and third in B division.
