Four St. Marys Sailors Pick Up All-America Honors
St. Marys College of Maryland sailing team had senior team captain Jennifer Chamberlin and junior Kelly Wilbur named to the 2009 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Crew All-America Team, while junior Jesse Kirkland and sophomore Michael Menninger were selected to the ICSA Coed Skippers All-America Team.

No. 4 Seahawks Capture 2009 ICSA Coed National Championship
All the pieces were in place Wednesday for an exciting finale to determine the 2009 ICSA/Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship on the San Francisco Bay, from warmer air and sea conditions, to good breeze, to a close contest between the two frontrunners for the title who were separated by just seven points with only eight races left to sail.

St. Marys Finishes Just Shy of the ICSA Team National Championship
The St. Marys College of Maryland sailing team was just a win away from claiming the 2009 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association/APS Team Race National Championship (May 29-31). The Seahawks notched a 12-5 record to finish ahead of Georgetown Universitys 10-7 mark for second place at the team race championship.

Magill Nabs All-America Honors for Second Year in a Row

Seahawks Claim 6th at ICSA Womens National Championship
The No. 5 St. Marys College of Maryland womens sailing team finished sixth at the 2009 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association Womens National Championship (May 26-27) hosted by Stanford University and the St. Francis Yacht Club. The Seahawks totaled 202 points in 28 completed races, besting No. 6 Georgetown University by six points.

No. 6 Seahawks Advance to ICSA/Gill Coed National Championship
The sixth-ranked St. Marys College of Maryland coed sailing team finished third at the 2009 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Eastern Semifinals (May 2-3) hosted by MIT at Fan Pier in Boston to earn a spot in the ICSA/Gill Coed National Championship which will be hosted in San Francisco by Stanford University and the St. Francis Yacht Club from June 1-3, 2009.

The sixth-ranked St. Marys College of Maryland coed sailing team placed fourth at the Admirals Cup hosted by the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (April 26-27). The Seahawks totaled 138 points in 24 completed races, finishing two points behind No. 7 Navy for third place.

No. 8 Seahawks Win MAISA Womens Championship
After finishing one-point out of first-place on Saturday, the eighth-ranked St. Marys College of Maryland womens sailing team captured the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association Womens Spring Championship by overtaking the host, No. 12 William Smith College, by two points. The Seahawks totaled 76 points in 22 completed races, while William Smith finished with 78.

Boston College comes within three votes of being a unanimous No. 1 selection in the coed rankings, while Yale University leapfrogs over the College of Charleston to take control of the top spot in the women's rankings.

No. 4 Seahawks Take Fifth at MAISA Coed Dinghy Championship
The fourth-ranked St. Marys College of Maryland coed sailing team finished fifth at the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association Coed Dinghy Championship (April 18-19) to earn a berth in the Inter-collegiate Sailing Association Eastern Semifinals hosted by MIT at Fan Pier in Boston on May 2-3. The Seahawks totaled 164 points in 26 completed races.

The St. Marys College of Maryland sailing team took fifth at the Navy Spring Womens Intersectional (March 14-15). The fourth-ranked Seahawks totaled 92 points in 14 completed races, just four points behind No. 6 Harvard University for fourth place.

Georgetown University and the College of Charleston are the No. 1 ranked sailing teams, coed and womens respectively, in the country according to the second spring rankings as released by Sailing World. The St. Marys College of Maryland coed sailing team dropped one spot to second, while the womens team moved up one to fourth.

Seahawks Capture Bob Bavier Intersectional
The St. Marys College of Maryland sailing team won the 10-team, Bob Bavier Team Race Intersectional hosted by the College of Charleston in South Carolina (February 28 March 1). The top-ranked Seahawks posted a 16-5 record after 96 races to capture the regatta.

The St. Mary's College of Maryland sailing teams will kick off the 2008-09 campaign in the Top 3 as both the coed and women squads were ranked second in Sailing Worlds Preseason Sailing Rankings as determined by SW's coaches panel: Michael Callahan (Georgetown), Ken Legler (Tufts), and Mike Segerblom (USC).
