Seahawks Claim 3rd at Charleston Womens Intersectional

Charleston, S.C. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's sailing team finished third at the College of Charleston Women's Intersectional (March 7-8). The fifth-ranked Seahawks totaled 132 points in 26 completed races, finishing 10 points behind No. 3 Georgetown University for second place.
Sophomore Megan Magill (San Diego, Calif.) skippered the A division boat to second place with crew Keisha Pearson (Sr./East Patchogue, N.Y.) and Jen Chamberlin (Sr./Alexandria, Va.) as the Seahawks tallied 47 points to finish behind the Charleston 1 boat.
In B division, junior skipper Sara Morgan Watters (Oxford, Md.) placed sixth with crew Meredith Powlison (So./Shelburne, Vt.), Sara Flowe (Jr./Hampton, Va.) and Chamberlin. St. Mary's posted 85 points, jumping from ninth on Saturday to sixth on Sunday.
Top-ranked Charleston captured the Intersectional with 63 points as the Cougars placed first in both the A and B divisions.
