Four St. Marys Sailors Pick Up All-America Honors

St. Mary's College of Maryland sailing team had senior team
captain Jennifer Chamberlin (Alexandria, Va.) and
junior Kelly Wilbur (Ipswich, Mass.) named to the
2009 Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Crew All-America
Team, while junior Jesse Kirkland (Warwick,
Bermuda) and sophomore Michael Menninger (Newport
Beach, Calif.) were selected to the ICSA Coed Skippers All-America
Team.
This is Kirkland's third consecutive All-America selection, while Kirkland, Menninger, and Wilbur all received All-Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA) laurels earlier this season.
St. Mary's ended the 2008-09 sailing campaign on a high note by
capturing the program's third ICSA/Gill Coed Dinghy National
Championship on June 3. The Seahawks finished second at
ICSA/APS Team Racing National Championship (May 29-31) and sixth at
the ICSA Women's National Championship (May 25-27).
