St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s sophomore skipper Michael Menninger is headed to the ICSA/Laser Performance National Men’s Singlehanded Championship hosted by Cornell University on October 24-26.

The St. Mary's College of Maryland sailing team officially started the 2008-09 season this past weekend as the Seahawks competed in four regattas with two of them being hosted by Old Dominion University.

SMCM Places Third in Nation in Dinghy Championship

The St. Mary’s College of Maryland (SMCM) Seahawks finished in third place at the 2008 Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA)/Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship in Newport, Rhode Island, earlier this month. The national championships are the premier event of the year for intercollegiate sailing. Two-member crews raced Collegiate 420s.

Seahawks Finish Sixth at Team Race Championship

Boston College won their second Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) national championship in four days as competition for the ICSA/APS Team Race National Championship (May 30 – June 1) wrapped up Sunday at the New York Yacht Club in Newport, Rhode Island.
