Seahawk Men's Cross Country Competes at Paul Short Run

Bethlehem, Pa. – Nine St. Mary's College of Maryland men's cross country runners competed Friday in the White Race at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.  Competing against several Division II schools, the Seahawks finished 35th out of 42 teams.

First-year David Kersey (Davidson, Md./South River) was the top finisher on the afternoon for the Seahawks, completing the 8K course in 29:11 for 141st overall as 357 men crossed the finish line.  Sophomore Matt Bennett (Scaggsville, Md./Reservoir) was next through the finish line in 29:29 and 160th overall.

Junior Nick Pasko (Bel Air, Md./Calvert Hall College) was the Seahawks' third finisher in 30:02 (198th overall), coming in right before a pair of first-years.  Collin Hickey (Bel Air, Md./Patterson Mill) and Toby Hall (Clarksville, Md./Atholton) finished in 30:11 (206th) and 30:29 (219th), respectively.

Finishing sixth and seventh amongst the Seahawk runners were first-years Erik Fisher (Derwood, Md./Poolesville) and Samuel Greenberg (Potomac, Md./Calvert Hall College) in 33:41 (267th) and 33:47 (270th), respectively.

The Seahawks will return to action on Saturday, October 8 when they travel to Center Valley, Pa. to compete at the DeSales University Invitational.  The race starts at 10:30 am.
