  • St. Mary's Stays Local for Next Cross Country Coach

    Scott Devine, the director of Athletics and Recreation at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, announced Thursday morning that Lynn O’Dell has been named the second head coach of the Seahawk men’s and women’s cross country programs. O’Dell is no stranger to St. Mary’s County as she has served as a physical education and health teacher in the St. Mary’s County Public School System for the past 19 years.
  • St. Mary's Cross Country Teams Wrap up Second Annual 24-Hour Run

    The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s and women’s cross country teams circled the track on the St. Mary’s City campus 784 times and raised $3064 in conjunction with their Second Annual 24-Hour Run to benefit the Southern Maryland Vacation for Vets organization and fundraise for the cross country program on Friday-Saturday, April 8-9.
  • St. Mary's Men's Cross Country Recognized for Academic Excellence

    One hundred and twenty-five NCAA Division III men’s cross country teams earned All-Academic Cross Country status from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association and St. Mary’s College of Maryland was one of those teams recognized.

    Sophomore captain Nick Pasko led the St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the 2010 Capital Athletic Conference championships hosted by Salisbury University Saturday. This is the second consecutive season that the Seahawks have finished fourth at the CAC championships.

    The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s cross country team went up against two nationally-ranked teams as well as four regional powerhouses at Saturday’s Gettysburg College Invitational. The Seahawks posted a 19th-place finish in the 25-team field.

    The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s cross country team fared well at the 37th Annual Brooks Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University at the Goodman Campus Friday afternoon as the Seahawks ran the college men’s 8K white race. St. Mary’s finished 26th in the 33-team field as the Seahawks average 29:25 on the course.
