ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team (3-8, 1-1 CAc) took home its first conference win of the season on Saturday (Mar. 23) afternoon as they defeated Frostburg State University by a score of 9-0.
St. Mary's - 9, Frostburg State – 0
- Jon Gorel and Ethan Garren set the tone for the afternoon as they came out and took down Frostburg's top pairing in Shasta Braithwaite and Nate Farlow with a score of 8-2.
- Ron Stith and Sam Sheats would follow that performance up with a 8-5 win over the Bobcat's Derek Thompson and Geoffrey Goldring.
- Not to be outdone Jack Brandenburg and Jacob Bartholow defeated Chad O'Neal and Tim Goldring with a score of 8-2.
- Gorel, Garren, Stith, Sheats, Brandenburg and Bartholow would all win their singles matches in impressive fashion. All six combined would win in straight sets and on top of that would only give up 15 points in doing so. St. Mary's would go 9-0 on the day between singles and doubles play and would win all matches in convincing fashion.
