Newport News, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team returned to action on the road against No. 29 Christopher Newport University following a three-match road trip in Hilton Head, S.C. Coming off of a three-match win streak, the Seahawks headed into CNU with confidence to extend the streak to four.

In doubles play, the Captains (8-5, 3-0 CAC) came out guns blazing, taking all three of the matches to take an early 3-0 lead. In the No. 2 Doubles match, seniors Wyatt Paulishak (Frederick, Md./Middletown) and Nick Ersoy (Prince Frederick, Md./Huntingtown) teamed up for the closest match, dropping an 8-3 decision to CNU's junior Michael Dodd (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock) and sophomore David Reed (Easley, S.C./St. Joseph's).

In the singles matches, it was once again the Captains that came out in dominating fashion, taking the next three matches to close out the day with the 6-0 win as the teams played the match to decision. In the No. 3 singles match, junior Byron Dickerson (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills) put up the biggest fight but came up short to first-year William Trang (Staten Island, N.Y./Brooklyn Technical), 6-0, 6-3.

The Seahawks (5-5, 1-1 CAC) will look to get back on track when they host No. 21 University of Mary Washington at the Somerset Tennis Complex on Wednesday, March 23 at 4:00 p.m.
