St. Marys Easily Handles Penn State Abington
Abington, Pa. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team returned to its winning ways Sunday afternoon with a dominating 7-2 road win over Penn State University, Abington.
Senior captain Kenny Nugent (Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke) remained undefeated on the young season with a 4-0 record as Nugent posted a 9-7 win over freshman Jordan Domsky (Upper Moreland, Pa./Upper Moreland).
The tandem of senior Drew Barnes and freshman Joshua Olexa (Prince Frederick, Md./Huntingtown) also own a perfect record in doubles action as the duo notched an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles over freshmen Nigel Hopkinson (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) and Matthew Wolff (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) to improve to 3-0 on the season.
St. Mary's will return to action in nearly two weeks as the Seahawks travel to Winchester, Va. to take on Shenandoah University at 3:30 pm.
