Nugent Selected to the All-CAC Men’s Tennis Teams

York, Pa. - Tom Byrnes, the commissioner of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC), released the 2009 CAC Men's Tennis All-Conference Teams Wednesday afternoon and St. Mary's College of Maryland was represented on the All-CAC Second Team for singles by Kenny Nugent (Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke).

Nugent Nugent finished his junior campaign with a 15-5 overall record in singles play.  He set the school's single-season record for most wins in a season with his team-best 15 victories this year.  Nugent posted a 7-1 mark at No. 5 singles and a 4-1 slate at No. 6 singles.  Nugent also boasted a team-leading four conference wins as he ended the season with a 4-1 log.

The Seahawks finished the 2008-09 campaign with an 11-10 overall record, just win one shy of tying the school's single-season record for most wins in a season set by the 1997-98 squad with a 12-3 mark.  St. Mary's posted a 1-5 record in conference action to finish sixth in the CAC standings.  The Seahawks were shutout by York (Pa.) College in the CAC quarterfinals.
