Seahawk Men's Swimming Named Scholar All-America Team
The College Swimming Coaches Association of America released yesterday the 2011 Scholar All-America Team award winners and the St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s swimming team found themselves on the list. This is the sixth time that the Seahawks have earned this honor during head coach Andre Barbins’ 13-year tenure.

Four More Team Records Tumble as CAC Championship Meet Comes to a Close
The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s swim team continued to rewrite the Seahawk annals as four more school records were demolished on the final day of competition of the 2011 Capital Athletic Conference Men’s & Women’s Swimming Championships Sunday night. The Seahawks have achieved 11 school records over the three-day event.

It was a stellar night for the St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s swim team as the Seahawks crushed five school records and medaled in six of seven events during the second day of the 2011 Capital Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming Championships Saturday night. St. Mary’s is inching closer to second place, remaining in third with 345 points by only 28 points off the pace.

First-year Thor Petersen was a three-time winner for the St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s swim team as the Seahawks closed out the regular-season Saturday afternoon with a 137-65 Capital Athletic Conference victory over league newcomer, Frostburg State University. The Seahawks (6-6, 3-2 CAC) captured all but one event in the win.

Seahawk Men’s Swimming Knocks Off Salisbury for First Time Since 2001
It had been 10 years since the St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s swim team had recorded a victory over Salisbury University but that all changed Saturday afternoon as the Seahawks (5-5, 2-2 CAC) captured the final event of the meet to post a 105-100 win over Salisbury (5-5, 3-3 CAC).

Sophomore Billy DeBoissiere established a school record in the 1000 freestyle as the St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s swim team dropped a 134-62 decision to No. 4 Johns Hopkins University (4-1) Friday afternoon.

In a double dual meet with Gallaudet University and Goucher College, the St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s swim team picked up two victories to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Seahawks posted a 156-45 win over Gallaudet (1-1) and a 116.5-83.5 triumph over Goucher (0-3).

The team captains will be Erin Cammarata, Nico Pinto, Sofia Sokolove, and Jackson Webb.
