DeBoissiere, Hedquist Lead Seahawks on All-CAC Men's Swimming Team

York, Pa. – Juniors Billy DeBoissiere (Columbia, Md./Atholton) and Cameron Hedquist (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) were two of six St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimmers named to the 2012 All-Capital Athletic Conference Men's Swim Team as announced Wednesday afternoon by league commissioner, Tom ByrnesDeBoissiere and Hedquist led the conference with seven all-league honors.

DeBoissiere earned seven second team all-conference honors while Hedquist was the CAC champion in the 200 individual medley with a school record time and a second team All-CAC selection in six other events.

Sophomore Thor Petersen (Germantown, Md./Northwest) and first-year Dylan Cope (Scottsdale, Ariz./Chaparral) followed suit with five All-CAC awards each while first-years Jackson Holden (Valley Lee, Md./Great Mills) and Bobby Witkop (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) each picked up two all-star awards.

Cope, DeBoissiere, Hedquist and Witkop were all part of the school record setting 200 and 400 medley relays.

St. Mary's snapped its three-year long streak of finishing third at the Capital Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Swimming Championships with the Seahawks' second-place finish at this year's championship meet.  This is the first time since 2002 that St. Mary's has finished second at CACs.
