St. Mary's City, Md. - The 200 free relay.  The last event.  That's what Saturday afternoon's Capital Athletic Conference men's swimming dual meet between St. Mary's College of Maryland and Salisbury University boiled down to as St. Mary's needed just a second-place finish to capture the meet.  Salisbury edged out the hosts, 104-101, with a 1-2 finish in the Seahawks' regular-season finale.

The Seahawks (4-5, 2-3 CAC) entered the final event ahead, 99-89, needing at least a second-place finish to win the meet by one.  The foursome of sophomore Ron Michael (Sykesville, Md./McDonogh) and freshmen Logan Riley (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck), Michael Rush (Boyds, Md./Poolesville), and Chris Coghill (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) missed second place by just 4.79, taking third in 1:40.19.

Salisbury (5-4, 4-2 CAC) claimed only three of 11 events as junior Tim Metcalf (Baltimore, Md./Mt. St. Joseph's) captured both the 100 and 200 freestyle events.

Freshman Billy DeBoissiere (Columbia, Md./Atholton) led the Seahawks in eight event wins with three individual first-place finishes, touching the wall first in the 500 and 1000 freestyle events along with winning the 200 breaststroke.

DeBoissiere finished the 1000 free in 10:20.38, while claiming the 500 free in 5:10.44.  St. Mary's notched a 1-2 punch in the 200 breast as DeBoissiere took first in 2:17.94 while freshman Evan Wollman (Annapolis, Md./DeMatha Catholic), a mid-year transfer from the University of Florida, finished second in 2:18.28.

St. Mary's captured the 200 medley relay in 1:42.90 as sophomore Joe Kelly (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron), Wollman, junior captain Jackson Webb (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown), and junior Aaron Page (Keene, N.H./Keene) swam in the event.

Webb placed first in both the 50 freestyle (22.74) and the 200 butterfly (2:05.54) while Wollman nabbed first-place honors in the 200 individual medley in 2:07.69.  Junior captain Nico Pinto (Lima, Peru) also won an event as Pinto finished first in the 200 backstroke in 2:05.90.

Kelly picked up a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle in 1:55.37 while Page tallied a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle in 52.88.

The Seahawks will be out of the pool until Valentine's Day weekend when St. Mary's hosts the CAC Men's and Women's Swimming Championships on February 12, 13, and 14.
