University of Mary Washington's junior Stephen Clendenin repeated as the Capital Athletic Conference Male Swimmer of the Year while third-year UMW head coach Matt Sellman earned his third consecutive CAC Men's Swim Coach of the Year honor as Mary Washington captured its tenth consecutive CAC men's swimming championship title.

As Governor Martin O’Malley issued a Declaration of Emergency for the entire state and declared that non-emergency vehicles remain off the roads, changes have been made to the 2010 Capital Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming Championships hosted by St. Mary’s College of Maryland on February 12, 13, and 14.

Salisbury Ekes Out Win over Seahawks
The 200 free relay. The last event. That’s what Saturday afternoon’s Capital Athletic Conference men’s swimming dual meet between St. Mary’s College of Maryland and Salisbury University boiled down to as St. Mary’s needed just a second-place finish to capture the meet. Salisbury edged out the hosts, 104-101, with a 1-2 finish in the Seahawks’ regular-season finale.

DeBoissiere, Webb Swim Well for Seahawks at F&M Invitational
Freshman Billy DeBoissiere notched three top 10 individual finishes and four top 10 relay finishes in leading St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s swimming to a seventh-place finish at the two-day 2009 Franklin & Marshall College Invitational which concluded Sunday evening with the crowning of The College of New Jersey as the team champion.

The York (Pa.) College men’s swim team posted a 139-66 Capital Athletic Conference triumph Saturday afternoon to hand St. Mary’s College of Maryland its first conference loss of the season. One of the highlights for the Seahawks (4-2, 2-1 CAC) was freshman Billy DeBoissiere setting the school record in the 100 breaststroke.

The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s swim team remains undefeated on the young 2009-10 season with wins over Gallaudet University and Goucher College Saturday afternoon. The Seahawks (4-0, 2-0 CAC) notched a 154-41 victory over Gallaudet (0-4, 0-3 CAC) and a 114-83 triumph over Goucher (1-3) while Goucher posted a 131-54 win over Gallaudet.
