Seahawks Fall to Washington (Md.)

St. Mary's City, Md. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swim team dropped a 126-77 decision to Washington (Md.) College in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.
The foursome of sophomore Gabe Grace (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Tech), sophomore Jackson Webb (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown), freshman Troy Kent, and senior Michael Preston (Pasadena, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) captured the 200 free relay in 1:32.81.
Sophomores Nico Pinto (Lima, Peru) and Aaron Page (Keene, N.H./Keene), Kent, and senior Bobby Wiley (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) swam a 1:48.35 to place second in the 200 medley relay.
Senior Joey Quase (Montgomery Village, Md./Good Counsel) took second in the 1000 free in 11:14.86 and third in the 400 IM in 4:52.33. Quase was also second in the 500 free in 5:27.60.
Preston and junior Cam Buckingham (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) tied for second in the 200 free as both swam a 1:52.50. Preston swam a 50.96 to take second in the 100 free.
Webb and Page finished second and third, respectively, as Webb came in 23.37 and Page swam a 23.82. Webb was also second in the 100 fly in 56.67, while Kent placed third in 57.87.
Grace was second in the 400 IM in 4:41.66, while taking third in the 100 back in 59.33.
Page came in third in the 100 breast in 1:06.40.
The Seahawks will be back in action next Friday, November 21 when St. Mary's hosts a Capital Athletic Conference tri-meet with Gallaudet University and Marymount (Va.) University at 5:00 in the ARC Aquatics Center.
