Grace Selected as CAC Male Swimmer-of-the-Week

York, Pa. - St. Mary's College of Maryland's Gabe Grace (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic) became the first male swimmer of the 2008-09 season to earn Capital Athletic Conference Swimmer-of-the-Week honors for the week ending November 9 as announced Tuesday afternoon by CAC commissioner, Tom Byrnes.

Grace shares the honor with the University of Mary Washington's Justin Anderson, as Anderson also won three events in Mary Washington's 175-87 win over York (Pa.) College.

The sophomore was a triple winner for St. Mary's as the Seahawks split their home- and season-opening tri-meet with Catholic University and CAC opponent, Hood College, on November 8.  SMCM posted a 142-39 win over Hood, but dropped a 115-90 decision to Catholic.

Grace captured the 200 IM in 2:08.85 as well as the 100 back in 58.01.  He was also part of the first-place 200 medley relay team which posted a 1:44.09 to win the event.
