Three Seahawk Men's Soccer Players Garner All-Conference Honors

York, Pa. – Senior team captains Matt Grady (Rockville, Md./Walter Johnson) and Brian Payne (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) and first-year Tommy Krug (Columbia, Md./River Hill) were named to the 2011 All-Capital Athletic Conference men's soccer teams as announced Wednesday afternoon by league commissioner, Tom Byrnes.  All three earned spots on the second team.

This is Payne's third straight all-conference selection, garnering second team honors twice and a first team nod in 2010.  As he has done throughout his four-year career, the 5-8 midfielder commanded the midfield for the Seahawks.  Payne finished second in team scoring with eight points on four goals, playing in 15 games with 14 starts.

Grady is picking up his first-ever all-conference selection after anchoring the defensive line and helping the St. Mary's defense post a 1.65 goals allowed per game average.  The 6-3 defender contributed offensively as well with a goal and an assist while seeing action in 16 games with 15 starts.

Krug is capping off a solid rookie campaign as an all-star.  The 5-9 midfielder aided in the Seahawks' transitional play and rounded the team's top five scorers with two goals and an assist.  He stepped on the field for all 17 contests with 13 starts.

St. Mary's wrapped up its first campaign under head coach Alun Oliver with a 7-10 overall record, notching the most wins since an 8-9-1 mark in 2008.
