Four Seahawks Earn All-CAC Men’s Soccer Nods

York, Pa. - Four St. Mary's College of Maryland players were named to the 2008 All-Capital Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Team as announced by conference commissioner, Tom Byrnes, Thursday afternoon.

Seniors Benard Agyingi (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar), Cyrus Albertson (Chevy Chase, Md./St. John's College [D.C.]), and Chris Madrigal (Dunkirk, Md./Northern) and freshman forward Chris Quamina (Glen Burnie, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) each garnered a spot on the All-CAC Second Team.  This is the first all-conference selection for all of them.

Agyingi In only his second season with the Seahawks, Agyingi finished the 2008 campaign with a fourth-best seven points as he notched three goals and an assist.  The 5-11 forward dished out an assist on the game-winner in a 2-1 victory at Randolph-Macon College on October 16.  Agyingi notched the game-winning goal in a 1-0 triumph over North Park College in St. Mary's second game of the season.

Albertson Albertson played at both forward and defense this season.  Offensively, he was third on the team with four goals and eight points.  Albertson matched his career-high in goals with a pair in a 2-2 draw with Stevenson University on September 27.  He then helped the defensive unit post a 2.04 goals against average and record three shutouts.

Madrigal His senior campaign was the best one for Madrigal as he finished tied for sixth in scoring with five points on two goals and an assist.  He also was part of a defense that posted a 2.04 GAA and three shutouts.  Madrigal scored at Randolph-Macon and converted on a penalty kick in a 3-1 win over Hood College.

Quamina Quamina had a stellar rookie season for the Seahawks as he led the squad with 14 points on six goals and two assists, tying for 10th in the conference in goals.  He tallied a season-best four points as the 5-5 forward netted both goals in a 3-2 loss to Christopher Newport University on October 22.

The Seahawks finished the 2008 season at 5-10-4 (3-3-2 CAC) and fell 2-1 in overtime in the CAC quarterfinals to Wesley College as the fifth seed in the conference tournament.
